Micro RWD EM4102
Low-cost proximity RFID reader module supporting EM
Marin EM4102 and compatible Manchester read-only transponders/tags (for example:
Sokymat Unique tag).
The module is completely housed within a 24-pin DIP package (pin compatible with
other modules) and only requires a 5v supply and a 700 micro-Henry antenna coil
to be fully featured reader and tag acceptance system.
The RWD module has outstanding RF drive capability and has a read/write range
to ISO card size tags of up to 20cm whilst maintaining reliable communication and
high resilience to EMC corruption. This has been achieved through the RWD continuously
self-tuning to allow for inductive changes in the RF field and extensive software/hardware
filtering.

The RWD module has a TTL level RS232 interface that allows a host system to send
and receive easy-to-use optimized commands/data (for example: Ascii “R” command
to read tag serial number).
The RWD also has internal EEPROM memory for holding system parameters and lists
of authorized serial numbers, a manual override switch facility and supports direct
LED drives to give visual indication of acceptance. Up to 100ma of drive current
is also provided as an output that can be used to switch external loads.

Different versions are available which use the spare I/O pins to output data
as clock/data signals or Weigand protocol signals (in addition to standard TTL RS232
interface).

Supported Transponders – EM Marin EM4102EM4102 tag has 8 bytes of read
only memory (factory programmed) of which 5 bytes are available to user.
64bit read-only passive RFID transponder with 40 bit (5-byte) factory-
programmed serial number. Standard EM4102 A6 version supported, Manchester
coded, 64 clocks per bit.
EM4102 is compatible with previous tag types H4001 and H4102.
As used in Sokymat Unique tag.
