Are you ready to start controlling the universe with your Arduino? Or at least some beefier motors? Built around the L298 chip, the Arduino Motor Shield is a dual full-bridge driver. This shield is designed to drive inductive loads such as relays, solenoids, DC and stepping motors – anything your poor little Arduino would burn up on if it tried to drive them itself.
You’ll be able to drive two motors via 8 pins on your Arduino. Each channel will allow you to control speed and direction, as well as measure the current and engage the ‘fast brake’
Do you need to drive a bipolar stepper motor? No problem, just combine the two channels and you’ll be stepping like a pro.
