Have been using the for my robotics course ... nice small robots

have experienced that som of the AX12's loses their strength

but besides that - a nice small robot

you can see some of my students projects on the following links

http://www.instructables.com/id/Phantomx-Pincher-Color-Sorting/

http://www.instructables.com/id/UCN-Robotics-PLC-Arduino-Project/

http://www.instructables.com/id/Arbotix-Arm-Sorter-With-Conveyor/

http://www.instructables.com/id/Autonomous-Gripforce-Stabilizer-Robotic-Arm/

http://www.instructables.com/id/ToBe-Automation-Color-Sorter-Robot-Introduction/

BR from UCN, Denmark

For this price the arm does everything very well - very accurate and repeatable (at least +/- 2mm from my testing). I have not tested how much it can lift. This is now supported in ROS with: https://github.com/corb555/arbotix_ros and https://github.com/corot/turtlebot_arm. The base is too small to adequately support the arm, but its fine if the base is mounted to something else. High quality plastic and finish for everything except the gripper, which is cheap plastic. Had to sand the gripper base because it did not slide freely.

See demo at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzGdnGchlTI
