Just as it is with the sensors layer, the controllers layer of the Trossen Robotics System is modular in design. Whether a project needs two DC motors or sixteen servos, the requirements can be easily met by choosing and installing the modular controllers needed. The advent of low-cost I/O controllers makes it easy for developers to design and build their robots to specific designs.

By allowing developers to communicate with them using standard programming languages, these next-generation motor controllers open the door for simple and rapid motion control development. Rather than spending endless hours searching for the right controllers and struggling to integrate various proprietary com models, developers can quickly build what they need and get to coding.

Upgrade as you go
An added benefit of the TRS is the ability for developers to upgrade and implement new technology as it becomes available. There is no box to get stuck in. If a new controller or motor is introduced, all a developer must do to take advantage of it is to make the necessary upgrades to the hardware and some minor code modifications. (read more here)
