    Software Features

    Hardware Features

LIMO is an innovative multi-modal, compact, and customizable mobile robot with AI modules and open-source ROS packages which enables education, researchers, enthusiasts to program and develop AI robots easier. The LIMO has four steering modes including Omni-directional steering, tracked steering, Ackermann and four-wheel differential, in line with strong perception sensors and the Nvidia Jetson Nano making it an excellent platform to develop indoor and outdoor applications while learning ROS. A beginner-friendly multi-functional table and rich ROS packages are provided allowing users to easily develop and validate new functions of AI and autonomous driving applications.

    App Compatible

The LIMO app is a brand new feature implemented in this ROS technology that will replace the remote controller. Enabling it to be more flexible and inovative. This multi-modal motion control is bluetooth compatible and allows you to control all four-wheel differential modes including omni-directional steering, tracked steering, & ackermann. The strong perception sensors & Nvidia Jetson Nano also makes it perfect for indoor & outdoor usage.

    Software

ROS & ROS2 - Robot Operating System (ROS or ros) is an open-source robotics middleware suite. Although ROS is not an operating system but a collection of software frameworks for robot software development, it provides services designed for a heterogeneous computer cluster such as hardware abstraction, low-level device control, implementation of commonly used functionality, message-passing between processes, and package management.

Gazebo - Gazebo offers the ability to accurately and efficiently simulate populations of robots in complex indoor and outdoor environments. At your fingertips is a robust physics engine, high-quality graphics, and convenient programmatic and graphical interfaces. Best of all, Gazebo is free with a vibrant community. Gazebo simulation packages are provided.

Navigation & Path Planning - Using sensor readings about its surroundings, Limo can navigate to a commanded location with or without a prebuilt map.

Object Detection & Obstacle Avoidance - Using computer vision, Limo can detect certain objects like letters, numbers, and traffic lights. While navigating, Limo can sense obstacles in its path and plan local paths to avoid it while staying on track.

Simultaneous Localization & Mapping - Limo can leverage sensors like lidars and depth cameras to construct a map of its environment while accurately tracking its own location. Limo comes pre-configured to work with three different SLAM packages: AMCL, GMapping, and Cartographer.

    Hardware

Nvidia Jetson Nano Developer Kit - NVIDIA® Jetson Nano™ Developer Kit is a small, powerful computer that lets you run multiple neural networks in parallel for applications like image classification, object detection, segmentation, and speech processing. All in an easy-to-use platform that runs in as little as 5 watts.

EAI X2L 360° Lidar - High accuracy EAI YDLIDAR X2L 360 degree 2D laser with scan frequency of 7Hz, range frequency of 3000Hz, range distance of 0.1 to 1-8m (based on reflectivity of object) allows for ROS navigation and obstacle avoidance as well as environmental scanning and 3D reconstruction.

ORBBEC® Dabai Stereo Depth Camera - The ORBBEC® Dabai Stereo Depth Camera is a high-precision, ultra-low power consumption and low-cost stereo depth camera that can provide color and depth images, and can be used to generate dense pointclouds. The ORBBEC® SDK and ROS wrappers are provided to make computer vision development a breeze. With a field of view up to 67.9°, a range between 0.3m and 3m, and an accuracy of +/-6mm, the Dabai is the perfect choice for the LIMO.

Metal Structure, Powerful Motor - Limo’s metal structure and powerful integrated direct-drive motors give it the speed and protection for high-velocity maneuvers and allow it to easily climb slopes of 25°.

Patented Four Steering Modes - Limo comes with four different steering modes: Four-wheel differential drive, tracked, omni-directional, and Ackermann. This versatility allows developers to perform research on a wide range of applications.

    Packages

Limo Simulation Table - The simulation table is specifically designed for the Limo and is perfect for autonomous driving projects and curriculum. The table allows for autonomous traffic light recognition, autonomous reversing and warehousing as well as autonomous navigation and detection.
